End Times

For those of us living in the Bay Area, when we awoke yesterday
morning, we were greeted by eerie darkness and an apocalyptic sky. What
made it especially strange was that the sunlight didn’t penetrate until
midday, and even then, it always felt like dusk. With no strong smell of
fire and the air quality at good or moderate levels throughout the day,
the ominous orange hue sky gave a sense of a time of trouble.
When
you think about it, 2020 is shaping out to be a year full of signs that
indeed we could be living in the last days. Whether it be a worldwide
pandemic, economic fallout, social unrest, bitter Presidential election,
cataclysmic weather, and most recently, California’s most notorious
fire season ever, all points to a world about to pass away.
When
the San Francisco Chronicle reports that the events of this year puts
the apocalypse on everyone’s mind, I don’t think it’s too radical for us
to go back to the Bible for answers. In fact, it’s high time we
understand afresh what the Bible teaches about the end of the world for
such a time as this.
Last Sabbath, Pastor
Miguel kicked off a brand-new sermon series entitled: End Times. As
Seventh-day Adventists, this is our time to shine for Jesus and let
others know how best to prepare for His soon return! I hope you will
find the series encouraging and helpful as you minister to those who are
wondering, ‘What in the world is going on?’
I
encourage you to invite a friend to join you as you worship with us this
Sabbath at Outdoor Church or as you stream live our service. God bless
and protect you!
“Now
learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branches bud and its leaves
begin to sprout, you know that summer is near. In the same way, when you
see all these things, you can know his return is very near, right at
the door. Matthew 24:32-33
